EDAI supported Henry Red Cloud’s efforts to bring more food self-reliance to Pine Ridge people by sponsoring the roof to his greenhouse (see above with extension, July 2007).
Last year the vegetable production amounted to:
- 4 tons of vegetables
- 60 families received vegetables at no cost
- 20 families bought vegetables.
With the roof intact, Henry hoped to be able to produce more and to be able to support more families with seedlings and training in community gardening.
